Duo becomes Trio

It's the 16th of January 2012 and i had to go to Montagu for some or other long forgotten reason.

I told Anton & Hein about my mission and that i would like to go gravel with my bike...they immediately volunteered to join me. This was a two day, one night trip. The rules of the game: We have to camp illegally and for free.

So we got ready and only left at about 4pm in the afternoon from Hein's spot...we then took the usual route via the 7 Passes to George. In George we stocked up on some wine, steak, snacks and stuff and then we took all the back roads between the farmlands to Riversdale, where we had to camp, due to the fading light.

 Somewhere just outside George

 The Riversdale NG en gee.

Hein told us about a dam not too far away from his old high school (Oakdale) and this was our campsite for the night.

Freedom is a wonderful thing...and so also, a camera!

Anton with his meat on a stick.

Early the next morning, the need was there.

 Taking a bath...

Moments before we left this beautiful campsite.

 Don't always believe the signs...

We got to Montagu at about 9am and decided to go for a small breakfast at the Wimpy, so we all enjoyed a Mixed Grill and a Mega Coffee.
After a few hours of listening to Oom Hennie & Oom Balsak's kerk raad & mother-in-law grappies, we went back to Knysna, leaving at about 1pm.

 Hein aka MilkMan

We turned left towards Van Wyksdorp

Where we came from...

Anton & Hein klapping a quick bite.

Ever wondered what's inside a girls hand bag...well, here's what's inside my tank bag!

Just outside Van Wyksdorp, we saw water flowing in the road. We decided to investigate, because it's an obvious waste in these harsh areas where water is a luxury and life to those who find it...
But for them this scarce life source was the reason for their death.
They obviously couldn't get out and so they faded to the depths and consequently made this water unsafe to use for livestock.

 A very sad sight

So much sorrow concealed in all this beauty.

What an awesome road to ride.

 Approaching George via Montague Pass.

We drove past my Uncle Devey and Tannie Zelda in Oudshoorn, and Zelda blessed us with a lovely home made Banana bread...we just got two slices each...thick ones!!! And it went down really well with a Wimpy coffee.

Anton taking a swing at things.
As we got to Wilderness, we saw a beautiful sign at the Ebb & Flow nature resort..."No Motorbikes and No Day Visitors"
We didn't see any signs that read "No nude swimming" or "No off-road motorbikes"

We had to take a bath before we get home, because we always tell our wives how safe, hygienic and fun biking is.

MilkMan gunning it to the swing...

Freedom expressed.

Some classic memories.
